The trip has some of the most spectacular scenery along the Lake Superior coastline, combined with the ancient mystique of the Sleeping Giant. This trip is suitable for those of intermediate skill level. · Slate Islands Adventure (5 days) $750 Departures: July 11, July21 and August 8-12 · The only kayaking trip in North America to bring you the fascinating combination of caribou, meteorites, and pictograph's! Long before glacial melting filled the Great Lakes, a huge asteroid slammed into the earth and created the ecologically unique Slate Islands 12 km offshore. We will spend 3 days in the scenic protected waters with side trips to observe woodland caribou and lots of other wildlife. Then back to the mainland, where an overnight at Worthington Bay will reveal to us, if the spirits allow, ancient Ojibway rock paintings.
